In March 2010, Academy of the Canyons was awarded a six year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The Focus on Learning self study process helped the AOC staff evaluate past progress as well as chart a new direction for its future. This process was followed up by a week long visit from an Accreditation Committee, who made suggestions for school improvement and reported their observations to WASC. The six year accreditation granted to AOC is the longest period that WASC will accredit any school for and is seen as a significant achievement for any school. Focus on Learning Self-Study Report
In preparation for a spring 2015 visit by an accreditation committee from WASC, the AOC staff spent the spring and fall of 2014 conducting an in-depth examination of our school. This process looked critically at the program and services we offer, our ability to provide a quality education to all students, the progress we had made since our last self-study process (in 2009), and then set goals for improving our school over the next five to six years.
