PSAT/SAT/ACT

PSAT

Content on the PSAT/NMSQT is very similar to the SAT, with reading, math, and writing and language sections. The PSAT/NMSQT can qualify you (11th Grade students) for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships. AOC offers the PSAT at AOC every October to 11th grade students only. Information is provided to students in September of junior year. If you are a 9th or 10th grade student wanting to take the PSAT, search for sites offering the test at https://ordering.collegeboard.org/testordering/publicSearch

SAT and ACT

The SAT and ACT are standardized tests widely used for college admissions in the United States. Many schools outside of the United States also require the SAT or ACT. AOC does NOT host the SAT or ACT. Students take these tests at other local high schools that host the tests. Currently (as of 2022) the University of California and California State University are test blind, meaning they do NOT review SAT/ACT for college admission.
