AOC values student wellness. We have a Wellness Room ran by Ms. Danica and an SEL Program ran by Mr. Wilhelm. The AOC Wellness Website has resources and tips when you need self-care tips and/or mental health support. You can make an appointment to see Ms. Alex on the website.  UPDATE: Ms. Alex is out on maternity leave; while she is on leave Ms. Danica will meet with students. AOC Student Care Line
AOC Care line posterIf you are struggling or know someone who is struggling, the Student Care Line makes early intervention possible, allowing for small problems to be handled before they become big problems. Use  [email protected] to report any concerns. Cause for concern might be indicated by:
  • Trouble controlling emotions
  • Withdrawal from friends and usual activities
  • Feelings of rejection or solitude
  • Feeling constantly disrespected
  • Frequent loss of temper
  • Increased risk-taking behavior
  • Talk of suicide or loss of hope
  • Self-harm

  • Action Family Foundation is a parent and teen support program that offers a safe place to talk, cry, laugh, and to discuss your teen's behavior with others who can offer practical solutions that work.
  • A Light of Hope SCV is a nonprofit, 12-step based Alternative Peer Group (APG) support center for young people and their families to get help with addiction or self destructive behaviors.
  • Insight Treatment Santa Clarita (661-765-8445) offers both a Day Program and Intensive Outpatient Program for teens struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
  • SCV Child & Family Center (661-259-9439) provides individualized services to meet the needs of people in various stages of recovery from alcohol or drug use. They provide various levels of outpatient services, intensive outpatient, and recovery support services.
  • SCV Youth & Family Addiction Recovery & Crisis Services
  • National Institute on Drug Abuse provides information on the use of popular "club drugs." Club drugs are drugs typically used by young adults at all-night dance parties, such as, ecstasy, GHB, Rohypnol, ketamine, methamphetamine and LSD. The site provides access to the latest research, current trends and statistics as well as links to related articles.
