Robert Walker has been a teacher at Academy of the Canyons since 2004. He is National Board Certified in Social Studies, and holds California teaching credentials in Social Studies and in Computer Applications.
He holds a BA in History from the University of California, Davis; a MA in History from Stanford University; an MA in Educational Technology and Computer Applications from California State University, Northridge; and a MA in Educational Leadership from the University of LaVerne.
He served as the Professional Development Coach for AOC from 2009-2015, and is currently the Website and Technology Coordinators for AOC. In 2014 he served as a Fellow with the State Department's Teachers for the Global Classroom Program, under which he taught for two weeks in Morocco and developed a website to asset Santa Clarita teachers in integrating global competency content and skills into their classrooms. He was recognized as Teacher of the Year for AOC in 2006 and again in 2015. He was recently recognized as one of the Santa Clarita Valley's 40 Under 40 (top 40 community leaders under the age of 40).
In addition to his responsibilities at AOC he is a current doctoral student at The Johns Hopkins University pursuing a specialization in Instructional Design for Digital Learning Environments. In his spare time he enjoys reading, exercising, traveling and spending time with his wife and two children.
